When making Jelly or Jam, after you have added the sugar be sure to bring your mixture to a hard boil before you start the timmer
when you are home canning meat, poultry or fish, wipe the rim of the jar with a towel damped with vinegar to remove any grease or fat that might be on the rim.
put the labels on the lid of the jar and not the jar itself. This will save you from having to scrub the label off of the jar when you reuse it. The lids are not used again anyway.
